As a certified hypnotherapist, I’ve found this approach incredibly successful in treating many different issues in both adults and adolescents. Individuals I’ve worked with have seen astonishing results using hypnosis, from a chain smoker who was finally able to quit, to a 10-year-old girl paralyzed by her fear of dogs now so comfortable with them that she has one, to a student who was able to overcome her test-taking anxiety and increase her SAT score by more than 200 points.
Before starting my own practice, I began my career with practicum and independent study work at the Hillsborough County Department of Children’s Services working in both their Family Treatment Program and at the Haven W Poe Adolescent Runaway Shelter. Additionally, I did an internship at the renowned Washton Institute in New York City, with a strong focus on intake evaluations with DSM-IV diagnoses on all 5 axes, as well as individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy in an outpatient environment for criminal offenders diagnosed with psychoactive substance abuse disorders. In addition to running my practice, in 2010 I spent three years at the Watershed’s inpatient rehabilitation treatment facility as a primary therapist.
